CMT Networking Questions part 1

Hello,

I'm new to the forums here and had a few questions on networking, I'm taking CMT 230 this semester and working on a take home quiz, but got stuck.

The quiz is open-book, open-note, Internet, and anything else we want to use.

There are 30 questions

I have found this quiz difficult though.

Here are the questions I'm having trouble with:

1. When punching down a cable on an EIA 568 patch panel, you keep the pairs next to each other? True/False

2. When punching down an EIA 568B patch panel, you use the "low" setting on the punch tool? True/False

3. You can connect three or more Thin Wire networked computers without using a hub or switch? True/False

4. You can connect three or more UTP networked computers
(each with 1 NIC) without using a hub or switch? True/False

5. To access a resource on a Windows sever, you need to?
(Rewritten in post 3)

6. A Netmask of 255.255.0 is a legal value? True/False

Anyone know about this stuff?, I can't seem to find the key words in my text book, so I came here.

This isn't a question....I mean there's a question mark. But it's not asking anything.
2. When punching down an EIA 568B patch panel, you use the "low" setting on the punch tool?
Same as previous.
3. You can connect three or more Thin Wire networked computers without using a hub or switch?
Again...
4. You can connect three or more UTP networked computers
(each with 1 NIC) without using a hub or switch?
I'm noticing a pattern.
5. To access a resource on a Windows sever, you need to?
Hey, this is almost a question!
6. A Netmask of 255.255.0 is a legal value?
Definitely a pattern.

One more question I left out in my first post.

When punching down an EIA 568 patch panel, the white wire is usually on the left side of the connectors for the pair.
True/False

We aren't really a homework dump website.

That being said the material they're presenting you is a bit odd and outdated.

Can I try rewording what I wrote?

So no one knows about this stuff then?

Guess I'll have to hook up with someone from class to help me out, unless...

We have a few professional network engineers here.

Realistically this is non-challenging information. If you can't do even a modicum of your own work then perhaps another career would be more suited.

Oh several of us know all this. Thing is, we're not real keen on doing your schoolwork for you.

You can't blame a guy for trying

I'll just search google and various websites to get keywords for the questions I'm not sure about.

Can I save my account?

There is schoolwork we will help with, but it's all in context.

Say your assignment/test/whatever is done and you don't understand why one of your answers was wrong so you post a question about it, we'll be more helpful. But if it looks like you are trying to get us to do your assignment or test you'll get the above.
