CoD 4 won't load

cod4 will not load on singleplayer/multiplayer.
it asks to load in safe mode, and when i press yes,it has a whit bex then exits.
i have a genuine key code.
i have min specs,i can run cod1-2,and 4.

Has it worked before and now it doesn't? If so back up your game files and reinstall.

Safe mode just resets the settings to the lowest, doesn't do anything else

What are your system specs?
Are you running onboard sound or a sound card?
Are you running through Steam or is it installed from a disc?
What patch are you on?
Was it ever working previously?

Just do a repair install from within steam.
