COD2 mutliplayer help!!!

Hey,
Me and my friend were trying to get 2 players in the same game on live for the 360, I mean we can get one player in but it doesnt have the option for another player to join the same game. Anyone know?
 
Is this a private match or like a matchmaking game.

If it is private you should be able to press like RT or something to invite a friend. If it is in matchmaking:

- join lobby
- press ring of light on controller
- go to friends list
- find friend to invite, select his name
- select invite friend, or send invite, or invite to game
