CoD4 problem!

Hey guys! Ok so my hard drive just crashed and I had to purchase a new one. I just finished downloading Call of Duty 4 on my computer. I just downloaded and TRIED to install patch 1.1, but I get an error stating:

'This application failed to start because mss32.dll was not found'

Could anybody walk me through the steps to fix this?

Sometimes if you download games, this happens but luckily there is an easy fix.

Go to this website: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mss32

Download the .dll file and I think you place it in your system32 folder or something> There's directions so that will help.

I hope it fixes your problem.

Where were you downloading it from? If it was an illegit site, (essentially, anything other than Direct2Drive and similar services) Im afraid we can't help here.

I'd try to reinstall the game (again) before modifying the system32 folder, just cause thats kinda sketchy.
