COD4 server help

Hey guys just made a COD4 server its running fine buttt i was wondering anyone know what i can do to reduce the ping when people come into the server? mine ping is fine and my buddy but other people that come in is in the 100's for the ping

If you are running the server from your home computer then the amount of people you will be able to get on the server will depend on how good your internet connection is and how much memory the pc you are running the server from has plus the power of the cpu,
If its a server you are renting online then it sounds like the people connecting are quite far away.
 
Yea well i justttt got it for like 40 bucks from my school at ITT they used it for a gaming server there but i just checked the specs the mem is maddddd low 512 so i am goin to upgrade it to 2g which i think should be fine. and i just upgraded my internet connection which i though would help but really didnt so maybeeeee its the memory. processir is 2.40ghz
 
Before spending to much money upgrading your pc and paying extra for better internet why dont you concider renting a server of the net you can get them rely cheap now and it might even be cheaper than the extra you are paying monthly for the internet speed upgrade.
 
well im paying for everything like TV and internet and all make good amount of money just thought it be better and what im doing ppl be giving me money for admin ya kno but im still trying to figure out why the ping is high im goin to try ram see if that works
 
And i can learn more about server and all get to learn this stuff because im goin to school to do networking and all so learning server such
