COD4:your opinions

Hey all,

For those of you that have COD4 lets hear what you have to say about it.

Do Pros: and a Cons:


Here’s mine

Pros:
*Graphics are what attracted me to this game as it looked so much better than the other cod series,

*game play is excellent, the maps are very big and you can hide in loads of places if you like sniping.

Fairly easy to rank up and it’s nice how you can pick up weapons of the floor and use which are not available on your rank yet.


cons

Airstrike, to me it just spoils the game completely because when you enter a game with high ranked players and your on a not so good team the enemy just keep getting Airstrikes and blow the hell out of everyone when they spawn again.
many of you probably wont agree with me on this one but what the hell thats what i think.

The map called Shipment is pathetic, its way too small and you are instantly killed at spawn by grenades.

*spawn protection is not long enough, Its fairly easy to just sit there and camp near spawn areas and kill them one after another.

*Lack of been able to use Vehicles, choppers etc!!!!!!
This is a big for me, I was disappointed that you couldn’t drive around in a tank or use a heli like you could in games such as BF2 or warrock.

So yeah that’s what i think of COD4, please give me your honest feedback :o

well for me there are too many pros but there is one con i hate... The host always ends the game (ps3 versions at least) and at the moment it seems like the stabing has a huge bug because i have done and receved many stabs that were way off and some that i was inches from the guy and it missed. I think it was from the last update but i cant tell
 
Pro's
- Good grafic's while easy to run (at least, as more games should be imo)
- fun gameplay (overiously, since it hasnt changed from CoD 2 by the looks of it :o )
- the C-130 level was REALLy fun, something I've never seen before!

Cons
- quite simmilair to CoD2 (can be seen as good or bad)
- AI with Down syndrome. (or at least, quite stupid. you snipe someone who's sitting behind a crate, and voilla, next npc takes its place, and they just keep comming! )
- no vehicles
- stupid ending (I would have really excpected something more.. well, story-ish)

I'm pretty sure I've forgotten something, but thats it for now ^^
 
PROS:
- Amazing graphics
- No need of a super computer *cough* Crysis *cough*
- Great multiplayer experience
- Customizable classes
- Variety of weapons
- Realism
- Maps are really well-created
- Lots, and I mean tons of servers to chose from in multiplayer
- Great fun and great overall gameplay

CONS:
- Not all weapons/attachments from the campaign are usable in multiplayer
- Singleplayer campaign is really short

Public servers are alright, but the scrimming is great. I agree that the knifing is slightly bugged because they can knife you from quite a distance away. Still, it is an improvement over the lackluster CoD2 bash.
 
In the pc version i no there isnt a downside with the mp but for the sp i wouldnt no i havent played it, i have been a member of this forum for a couple of years and never got to no anyone untill cod4 came out and now i run the official computer forum cod4 clan and due to this i have spoken to people from all over the world and we all get together for games and chat at the same time, so in my opinion this game is amazing and has allowed me to meet people i would never of met so in conclusion ood4= brillliance.
 
I used to enjoy the army/war type games, but then too many came out. Many were simply poorly done, others just didn't have anything that felt unique, or anything that stood out from the crowd.

I just played the COD4 sp campaign and it was magnificent. It really brought some life back to the genre for me. I loved it. Each level felt unique, although the last couple felt too similar to one another, at least compared to the diversity in the earlier levels.

I really enjoyed the modern day feel, instead of an 8000th iteration of WW2. It felt refreshed and nice. Had a modern type feel without a Siphon Filter/MGS feel.

Overall wonderful game, if only it wasn't a friends copy . . . :(
 
pros:

Great Graphics
Same Gameplay (engine) as the old CoD's
Very Fun
RPG style leveling system

cons:
Maps too small (incl shipment ... stupid)
airstrike / heli...annoying. airstrike was a available on the old CoD games if i remember correctly though.
no vehicles due to small maps.

That was deep! :o I forgot to mention that. I would've never talked to a bunch of people I do now. :)

I know right? There's really no cons I couldn't find any cons except that some weapons/attachments from single player campaign aren't availabe in multuplayer... example: almighty silenced sniper! :rolleyes:

And whoever thinks the map "Shipment" is not good, you should have a match with us in the [cf]clan. ;)

Good Graphics
Good Gameplay
Various Weapons
Realism
Doesn't put much load on the CPU
Weapons are balanced


Cons
When I bought COD2 it felt like an unfinished COD4
Server bowser!!
The AI was average
Singleplayer was short

At first I thought that the multiplayer was a bit average but then I went up a couple of ranks and it was great!!Shipment is alright just make sure you don't have 48+ people!! Some maps are better with certain modes, like downpour I find is bad in team death match but its great in free for all. The server browser is really annoying I know about adding it to your favorites and all but after 5 or so patches it really shouldn't be a problem.Now I just use Xfire to find servers.
 
great game, it is easy and fun to level up, and the guns all have advantages and cons that make every single gun useful in some way. p90 and g36 all the way :D
 
Pro's

- One of the best single player FPS games on the market
- Upgradable weapons
- The 'Perk' features
- Always big variety of servers to choose from
- Graphics
- Weapon Physics

Cons

- Multiplayer very quickly becomes repetetive
- Single player very short
- Very little tactics involved in Mulitplayer
- Airstrikes
