Codecs

I recently downloaded 2 movies and I have all the Codecs installed I can possibly think of, yet I'm not getting sound on the speaking parts, I'm getting the background music any ideas?

Are you on a laptop? have you tried setting your speaker config to stereo? I know some movies think that all laptops have surround sound and then this happens.
