Colin McRae DiRT on GeForce 6200

I tried running the demo but it just crashes to the desktop! I know my PC doesn't pass even the MINIMUM system requirements. Are there any way to force it to run? Colin McRae Rally 2005 runs fine with my old GeForce FX 5200 and even better with my new 6200.

PS: If I buy a GeForce 8500GT, will it run DiRT above 25 FPS with minimum settings?

to be honest.. i doubt it. not to mention, I think your cpu would be a real bottleneck for the grafic's card

Doesnt the 6800 blow away the x1300? :/

Well, The 8500 Isnt that fast of a card, pay a little bit more and get an 8600.

i've got DiRT and I play it on my crap 7300GS. I get 20FPS and I know the 8500GT is more powerful than my crap card. So you'll be able to get 25+ FPS.

It should still run, just really poorly.

Updated DirectX (August 2007). Reinstalling the demo. I'll tell whether it works or not. However, thanks for the link!

PS: You seem to have the Ageia PhysX PPU in your rig, does it improve performance? How much?

Never read the minimum requirements some publishers would have you believe you can run new games on a calculator. Dirt runs terrible on my Geforce 6800GT and that card is water cooled to 425Mhz on mine with dual Opteron processors at 2Ghz and 2GB ram.

Yes! It runs on my PC!

Quality settings are as low as possible. Except for driver which is set to Low instead of Off.

Menu:
XP: ~44 FPS
Vista: 14 FPS

Buggy track:
XP: 19 FPS
Vista: 6 FPS

The game is barely playable in XP and unplayable at all in Vista.
