college antivirus?

ok so the college im going to recommends that i install there antivirus which is Symantec AntiVirus 10.1.1000 enterprise edition but i already have mcafee internet suite with firewall,antivirus,spam blocker, and privacy plus. should i make the switch?

and what makes u think that, kaspersky and norton have best antiviruses, but if u wanna free one AVG and avast wont let u down,

there are many good internet security companies, dont say that McAfee is better then Symantec cuz it isnt

Stay with McAfee if u already have it, use firefox and dont go on porn and crack sites

norton is much better than mcafee. i had 5 viruses on my other computer and i had mcaffee on it and mcafee wouldnet get rid of it and i put norton on there and it detected more viruses and it got rid of them.
 
just do whatever works for you. some people say norton is better, others mcafee. if mcafee is working for you now just stick with it.

What malkes you say that? You could just keep going back and forth, there IS NO BETTER, its just an opinoin.

I suggest staying with what you have for the sake of not doing what they want you to. It ussaly lead's to bad things.

WTF???? of course there is better, i have never heard that in my life, thats the meaning of companies to be better

and what did everybody say, to stick with McAfee, jeez.... read the post

What the hell are you talking about? I was saying my opinoin.

and I was saying that everyone has there opinoin and no matter what you say is better other people are going to think different, its opinoin, and there is no "set" better. There is no comparing like rRAM where you can have higher or lower spped or high or lower latnecy's. That's all I mean.

And I'd like to know how I was any more "hostile" then you. I think you need to read what post's actully say and think about what the word's mean being acusing anyone. I also suggest this is taken to PM's.

i said that everybody said to use what he has, and then u said dont listen to them, use what u have cuz what their posts leads to bad things. WTF????? didnt i say the same thing and then u say that it leads to bad things. OMG!!!

EDIT: and yeah, about the opinion, it was not my ****in opinion cuz i know from the tests that were taken, kaspersky and norton have the highest detection rate (thats for the antiviruses)

EDIT (again): hostile... cuz u came first with the "what makes u say that" this makes me say that: proof (they have the highest ****in detection rate)

What realy surprises me is avast and avg is way down on that list, but what do you expect for free...better than nothing I guess!

Edit: Back to the main topic McAfee is not that bad of an antivirus so seeing as how you already paid for it I would use it and when your subscription runs out consider switching. But first find out facts from other people using it like do you get it for free or does the school charge you for it ect ect...!

1.I wasn't talking about what the people posted. I was talking about the college that recomend's to change, I was agreeing with that people said. You misunderstood what I was trying to say.


2.Highest detection rate does not mean best.


3.The only reason why i said what makes you think that to be redunded on what you said to the person above.

When it comes to protecting my computer I would highly recommend taking that into consideration, along with price, and system compatibility!

And by system compatibility I mean being able to run on your computer, sometimes somethings just wont run on someones computer for some odd reason or another, just like zone alarm wont run on mine. So if you can get a trial on any antivirus that you are thinking about buying I would recommend doing so!

im assuming that english is not your main language cuz u have silly mistakes like "thank's" instead of thanks :P
 
Userinterface and how freaking annoying they are can come into facorization ;) I personally use nortan and like it but sometime's it messed up and when i start the computer and when i try to conect to anything with the internet it pop's up with something asking me if i should allow block or automatically configure like normally it would, but it does it over and over again, the setting doesn't stick, so then have to restart my comptuer and it works fine. Other then that Its OK other then the updates are slow sometimes.

Edit:@filip-matijevic I mostly post on this account myself but there are a couple other people that live with my that also post, so I just leave it blank, but I am 18 and live in California, United States.

edit2: Didn't see the second part, Actully no, It's my main and first langauge, I just am bad at it, was a screw up in school for a while and didn't learn many of the grammeratic rules, but Mainly its just dumb mistake's that I make while typing and scan real quick and dont see it to fix. A lot of times I put 's on thing's that don't need it for some reason....Somehow it became a habit.
