I'm currently trying to play an MMO, Darkfall, in my dorm. Needless to say, I'm having issues. At home, if any ports need forwarding or if any networking issues need tending to, it's a lot easier to manage since it's my own hardware. Here, I'm a bit clueless. I have monitoring software installed on my computer (campus mandate) called Bradford Persistent Agent. It doesn't affect my internet performance while browsing or even playing Call of Duty on my PS3. When it comes to the MMO, my latency spikes more than five times a minute to 1000-40,000. No exaggeration. When I first started playing, my ping was 90 on average. After a few logins, this issue arose. I've tried learning about tunneling, as I've read that's a common solution for dorms and online gaming, but that hasn't helped much--most likely because I'm not too educated on the matter. I'm not a computer genius, but I'm fairly literate. It's beyond frustrating. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Also running Vista; figured that'd be useful information to some.
