I don't have an exact budget, I'll get a subsidized loan to buy it but I'm getting a job so i won't have to pay interest as i'll pay it back in the next year, but that said I'm not going for a $1k monster, $500 is my goal but I'll say $800 max. You know what i want, should play games well when i have time but last as long as possible. I haven't kept up but gonna take a wild guess and say Intel is still the way to go. I'm thinking 15.6" will be suitable, don't want smaller and don't really need bigger (and the resulting heavier) but if it's the same price and specs I'd go for a bigger screen. For the obvious but just in case, 8gb should be easy, 500gb should be enough but 1tb would be nice, i don't need 1080p since my monitor now is a 19" 1440*900.
If i can find a steal on a lenovo Y50 I think it'd be perfect, it could actually replace my computer pretty much, if there's a sale under $900 i might jump on it

It's 5am and my head is scattered and i can't sleep so I know there'll be some things i left out, so ask away, but i think most of you know what I want and can make a fair assumption.
