Color Banding Issue

Tried changing the resolution settings on the monitor?? had a look at the video card settings??

Yes, I have. I started at max resoultion and tried several lower resoultions. Max looks best. The video card settings allowed me to change the color quality to 32 bit and refresh rate to 60 hertz, but that didn't solve it.

If your serious about graphic design and want the most out of your monitor then get yourself a monitor calibration tool. Its a night and day difference and should solve that issue. Check em on ebay or newegg they are pricey but well worth it.

Okay. I suppose I can try it. But what I don't understand is why I'm having this problem to begin with. I'm on a 32 bit color setting and my monitor displays 16.7m colors (24 bit).

Since the problem only occurs in PS, and only when working with gradients, i would narrow it down to a PS fault. But that sounds really whack so since you have 2 cards in SLI, take one out and just use that one output and work with your gradients, if the problem still occurs, then try the other card. Other then that, i really can't help you.

I've tried using each card alone and both cards without the SLI bridge. Same issue. I've looked all over the internet to see if people complain about color banding on their PALiT 9600gt Sonic cards, but found nothing. I've also looks for similar problems with my Acer monitor. Nothing. I'm beginning to think something in my machine is faulty.
