Combofix log, I give up

I've tried everything I can think of to help my girlfriend's laptop. Well that I can remotely since I'm not able to get over there to get my hands on it.

Its that increasingly-sneakier fake antivirus program.

Even in safemode she can not reinstall malwarebytes nor combofix from an external drive, well she said she can but it won't open. Somehow she was able to install and run combofix but not malwarebytes, I had told her to change the file name before she saved it. She's not able to track from the Task Manager which process it is. Right now it stopped allowing her to get online or on aim.

I've tried various methods to get her to install and run different programs to get rid of it. After one point she got an error trying to log in something about unauthenticated access. Combofix had found a rootkit which required a restart I've included the log as a txt file.

From your combofix log, it looks like you have a bad proxy server setting is all. Have her do this.

Go into internet options, click on the connections tab, click on the lan settings button, and have her uncheck the boxes under proxy servers. This should restore the internet. Have her reinstall malwarebytes, update it and run a quick scan. Post its log along with a hijackthis log.

Sorry it took so long, malware bytes came back clean, but she can run hijackthis. She's tried reinstalling it, and restarting.

That message is normal for Vista as you need to run hijackthis as admin to scan the hosts file. Rerun hijackthis and but this time right click the file and click on run as admin and then post the log.
 
She's telling me she's not seeing the Run As. She showed me a screen shot and it is indeed not there. I know she's logged in as herself, what gives?

Hijackthis should still run and show a log if that message appears. Just have her click ok and hijackthis should finish scanning.

As far as not seeing the run as admin option, I'm not sure. As long as her account has full access it should appear. So she right clicks on hijackthis and no run as admin option comes up?

If she doesn't need that dell video chat to run at bootup, I would suggest to have hijackthis fix that as well.

Also, she has way too many toolbars installed and enabled. This slows down the browser tremendously. I would pick one and disable/uninstall all others. My favorite to keep would be the google toolbar.
 
Yeah I know but last time I tried to optimized her performance she got all paranoid about me working on it... whatever.

Have her reapply the fixes and post the new log. If they still appear in the new log then there are issues.

You may also use msconfig utility to stop the 04's from running at bootup.
