Comfy Computing

I was wondering if anyone has or has ever had the urge to move a computer to a non-standard location in order to achieve maximum comfort, or if anyone has modded anything or replaced certain pieces of furniture to make a more comfortable and unique setup. When I was younger I used to have a big comfy living room style chair in front of my computer desk but because of the height issues I would up getting scars on my wrist from using the mouse with my hand off of the edge of the desk, later on I had back pains as well. That being said.. There has to be a line between ergonomics and comfort. My friend had a recliner in front of his PC and swore by it and lately I’ve though of moving my PC and monitor to my coffee table so I could use it from the couch. I also knew someone who had their monitor set on a night stand beside their bed. I was wondering if any of you have had such setups or recommend anything more comfortable then the standard desk and chair combo. Share your thoughts idea's and pictures please!!

I have the corner section of a corner sofa as my chair lol but the screen and keyboard is sitting on a fold out table which is a bit higher. If the table was a bit lower it would be perfect but it get uncomfortable at times. I'm going to by a office swirly chair and desk soon should be a whole lot more comfy. When I had roomates I used a recliner sofa and had my screen on and end table and used the arm of the chair to move the mouse, I loved it.

thats what the laptops are for. i have a family member who bought a slimline pc because it fits right under this gap on the desk :)

I do have a laptop on my couch and thats what actually gave me the idea. I was using my MacBook Pro playing an online game and was craving the 24" widescreen and graphical power of my desktop. Then I realized how cool it would be to have the power of my desktop .. but on my couch.

More stories and idea's please!!

I know someone out there has pics of a non-standard computer setup...

For a while I had a bunk bed, and I was sleeping on the top bunk. On the end of the bunk bed, there was a column of drawers, so on the top, there was a nice flat surface, where I had my monitor, computer, and wireless keyboard and mouse. It was an awesome setup.....but anyway, I changed rooms (I moved into my bro's room after he left for college...his room is a lot bigger) and now I just have a regular old desk with a regular old rolly chair.

once i get my new computer i will be able to roll my desk right up to my bed and check mail right before i catching a nap, a long 12 hour nap

Well.. Its completly possible to come up with a lot of unique setups with LCD monitors being as space saving as they are, especially with the LCD mounting arms. The more I think about putting an LCD arm on my couch, the lazier and lazier I feel.. I asked someone about this in real life and they said that computer desks were designed to be uncomfortable to discourage long periods of use... lol

My normal setup is in a desk with a nice leather reclining chair... but for comfy use i have my laptop and xbox 360 in my room for gaming on my bed.
