Command and Conquer 1 now Freeware!

actually after some searching ive found that cnc1 was made freeware in 2007

and theres no source, its freeware not oss
 
Red Alert 1 was freaking awesome! I still remember the day I finally beat the soviets and the ending told me there would no doubt be a second one :D

I bricked my vista machine doing it, i think it wiped over dx9/10 with dx3 lol
 
Hmm, maybe thats why my dx9 isnt working...(i think).

I installed but had a couple problems and i dont think its working.
 
you need to google for the XP patch

its a patched DLL that stops it blackscreening on NT based systems.

By source I meant proof that it's true..... Anyway if cnc1 was made freeware in 2007 then my mistake wasn't as bad as i initially thought it was.

About 500mb per disk - a gdi and a nod disk , i only ever play as the gdi so i only downloaded the GDI one. There ISO images so use demon tools or burn to a cd.

you can make a free account (normally free members have to queue but only 1 person was downloading c&c when i tried lol so no queue) - if you play games using gamespy, you probably have an account already.

Who thinks the C&C soundtrack Rocks?
 
Free Red Alert 1 download from EA Games

For the 13th anniversary of the game and the upcoming Red Alert 3, EA has released for download the first Red Alert, the Soviet and Allied discs. Both are 500mb downloads , and when downloaded simultaneously take a bit under 30 minutes to download. You can just install using a virtual mounter (magiciso, poweriso, etc)
The page also has a flash video trailer of the game. Some hot ass honeys!!

This makes me feels old that I remember this game was all the rage when it was coming out, and now it's being made free by the publisher..., eesh...
