You could just get the good 'ole MS-DOS bible. Had mine for many years and it's never let me down.

where exactly did you come across one of those?

Book fair a long time ago. I knew it would be something I'd need so I bought it. I think it's about 2-300 pages and has almost everything you'd want to know about DOS.
