As you can see from my sig, my current PC isn't exactly all that and a bag of chips. I'm planning to get the following list of items from Newegg.com for a total of $1,255.05 after shipping:

Thermaltake Kandalf VA9000BWS Black Aluminum/Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail $185.50

ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail $179

MSI NX7800GTX-VT2D256E (Lite) Geforce 7800GTX 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - OEM $479

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ ClawHammer 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA4000ASBOX - Retail $385

I'm going to use the cd/dvd roms I have from my current computer, my ram, and my hard drives. I think the price I'm paying for all of this is already reasonable. I don't plan on buying a second video card until later. So how does this all sound?

San Diego would've been a better choice. DDR2 ram?? Don't forget arctic silver and windows. ROsewill's 500 watt and 550watt psus are prettyd decent.

AMD doesn't spport DDR2 RAM, how are you using it now? and how do you plan to  You sure you dont just have dual channel DDR RAM?

Why spend the extra $ on an SLi mobo and only get 1 video card? If your not going to spend money to get the 2 video cards then it makes no sence to get the SLi mobo? If you thinking about getting the second one later, you have to figure that by the time you actualy get the $400 for the second one theres going to be a whole new beter video card out there that every one is going to get, that or ATI will finaly put there SLi out. In short if your not getting 2 7800GTX then save some money on the mother board. Just my thought... :D

If you can, grab the SanDiego version ... far superior .. it has the code ADA4000DAA5BN

DDR2 ram??
What about it? It's not compatible

Because not everyone is able to buy two videocards right NOW but may in the near future
