I have Vista and apparently ZoneAalarm doesn't work for Vista. I have downloaded and am using Comodo, but how do I tell if it's working? ZoneAlarm would tell me how many accesses attempts had tried to access my computer, but how do I tell if this one is working? Are there any other better free options for Vista?

got this of zonealarms website

All of our current products, except for ZoneAlarm Anti-spyware, run on the Windows Vista operating system. Due to the different needs and functionality of the Vista operating system, some features and functionality on 2000/XP may differ on Vista.

I tried it, but there were compatability issues with avast! so I went back to comodo.
@ OP: you'll know comodo is working because it asks about any program that you run at all. And there's a little gray shield in the taskbar with a green check mark on it, and red and green arrows show up when there's any internet activity,

Double click the shield icon on your tray.
When the Comodo window pops yp make sure you're under the Summary category.
It should be under network defense.
This should help:

The Zone Alarm installer says it's incompatible with Vista 64 bit. The Comodo seems to be working, but it's a harder interface to read then Zone Alarm.

I use Comondo and it works great, i really got it working well recently i love it :D and i highly recommend it!

Zone Alarm keeps telling me it's incompatible with Vista 64 bit. I'm getting used to Comodo and it seems pretty nice.
