Comp Fails To Exit Hibernation

About one time out of five, my computer fails to come out of hibernation properly. Where it would normally take me to the login screen so I can click my name/picture, I just get a blank screen. I'm forced to restart my computer and purge the restoration data, so if I was working on anything it's gone.

Is this a Windows issue or hardware? I don't have any other problems...

is it a laptop? the reason i ask is because when i have my laptop plugged in and put it into hibernate, then i unplug it and try to restart, it wont start up and i have to delete the restoration point. other than that i dont know.

It's a PC. I can always just not use hibernation, but if it's a warning of trouble ahead, I'd want to take measures to protect my data.
