First the specs.

Ecs pt800ce-a mobo

1 gig corsair ram.

nvidia 5950 ultra vid card

20 gig hd

brand new coolermaster 600w extreme power supply.

My question is this, my computer will run fine ALL day long just surfing the net, or doing whatever else. But as soon as I load the game guild wars, it will just shut off, like someone pulled the power cord out of the power supply. I had a problem a while back where my old power supply completely died on me, I just bought this new one 3 days ago, and I recently formated my hd so I know viruses are not the problem. I took off my side panel and put a housefan next to it blowing fullblast and it still shut off.

Basically, its not viruses, its not heat releated, the power supply is brand new, what is it?

Thank you for your help.

Also, when it shuts off, I have to unplug the power cord and let the comp sit for a few mins before I can turn it on again.

Is it just the game guild wars or is it every game you play? Even though you have a housefan blowing on the computer do check the temperature, especially CPU/GPU temp.

Normally, cutting out during a game is power related issues. Did you have the problem before the power supply? Just because it's new doesn't mean you won't have problems :P
