Comp to TV help

Hello,

I would like to connect my computer to my new TV but i am stuck identifying the cables required. I beleive the TV has a HDMI socket and i think i can get a HDMI to VGA adaptor but i wondered if its possible to do so that i can keep my monitor still attached? Please find an image of the back of my tv and the back of my comp. The comp is pretty basic with out any fancy graphic or sound cards. The aim is to stream films so sound is an important factor.

Please excuse me if i have made some blunders, i'm technologically challenged. Looking forward to suggestions!

Many thanks
Katty

so you basically want a dual monitor setup with your current monitor that youre using with the tv that youve recently just purchased?

idk from the looks of the onboards plugs, the only way for you to do a dual monitor setup is to get a video card with any kind of 2 video-out (VGA, DVI, HDMI) plugs

almost anything you find here will do the job for you:

if you decide to purchase a video card, just make sure you know the compatibility and whatnot of your computer.

but it seems like thats really the only way you can do what you want to do, at this point.
