comp wont load

Hi i was wondering if someone could help with my sisters comp, it would freeze on the foxconn screen (make of her motherboard) and wouldnt post, so i re-set the bios and a could get it to boot up but then when i got to the password screen it froze, so a tried again and got it to load, once i put in the password it froze again and has continued to do so, so i loaded it in safe mode with networking and it works fine, i have cleaned it the best i can using ccleaner and am in the middle of doing a virus scan, a dont know much about computers really so any help would be great cheers
 
If not a hardware problem. If it boots in safe mode it could be a program or driver that's loads at startup causing it to hang. Was any new drivers or software installed right before it started happening?
 
no, there was no new hardware installed, there was a new processor installed about a year ago, this is compateble with the board, it done the same thing then but only a couple of times then it has been fine since.
 
sorry just noticed you said software, a will check with my sister but am sure there is nothing new software wise, although i did find a icon on the desktop called ilivid which i have seen pop up on some streaming websites, but a cant find the file to try and remove it
 
ok a will try the system restore, also a can get it to load normally (not in safe mode) with just the basic devices, a done this through msconfig, once i had it loaded a changed it back and again it froze grrr
