Compaq Monitor too bright and i cant find a brightness srew.

I have a compaq cv535 ( my old monitor ) that has a over-bright look. I opened up and looked for the g2 screw on the flyback transformer but there was no screen screw...just the focus screw and since is a brightness issue that screw was of no help to me. I have been looking for another screw around the flyback but no luck. I am open for suggestion on what to do or where to look.

Am not sure how to do it from your monitor but in most video card drivers you have the option of controlling brightness using the drivers. Tell me what video card you have or at least who makes the video or what video card drivers you using and I can proberly give you more detail instructions.
