ok, i gotta question about these motherboards i got laying around, 1 is a motherboard from my compaq, but i dont have a case 4 it, would any 1 know what kind of case this will fit in? and another is a gateway motherboard, the pics are below, thanks:

From here it looks like an old socket 7, 370 or A motheroard. If it is socket 7 we are talking past time AT form factor so there might be difficulty geting a case. If its 370 or A you can use any ATX case but possibly excluding micro ATX.
 
if i wasnt getting the "exceeded limit of attachments" message, i would post the pic of the Compaq board.
 
Since it's a 370, it is more than likely ATX form factor, I don't know if these were made in micro atx? My Powerspec is a Socket 370, and it's in an awfully small case and only has, 2 PCI cards and 1 AGP I believe, so yes they may come in Micro ATX. You can usually tell by the number of PCI slots, and how short or tall the mobo is. Either way, you could get a case for it cheap whether it's a micro or plain ATX. NewEgg has piles of cases, most with really good prices. I'll have to get a picture of my Powerspec with the side panel off to show how crammed it is in there. To change the memory you have to hold the spring tab on the hard drive bays and pull that out.

Hmm... black? Are you sure they're not dark brown? I'm not sure of black slots. Dark brown would be ISA slots, something I thought was done away with after Socket 7 boards? Not sure on that one. It usually tells the socket type on the socket itself. I guess there is a possibility it could be a 370 with ISA slots.

EDIT - I guess ISA slots can be black too?

This is confusing. ISA slots, from reading there, are quite old.

I figured. I was wondering "What would ISA be doing on a Socket 370 motherboard!?"

Since it's a Socket 7, it would probably be harder to find a case. It's some AT-style thing.

That I could almost gurantee is an ATX board. What kind of processor is it able to take, maximum? I see 4 PCI slots, 2 memory slots, ATX power connector at the top of the board, um, I think 2 IDE connectors and an FDD connector.
 
max ram is 256, i was going 2 use it 4 internet, the only reason i took it apart was because it wouldnt take the network card i put in it, dont ask why i tore it apart, i wasnt thinking.
 
fastest i got is my Latitude, fastest is soon 2 be my Gateway desktop, (hopefully), if everything goes well. im going 2 search on ebay 4 a case, what do i search 4?
