I have a Compaq Presario CQ62-209WM laptop and I have recently formatted it. It's running windows xp and I can't find drivers for xp anywhere. (I tried win 7 ones but no luck) Can someone tell me where I can get xp drivers for this laptop :confused: (can't find them on the official compaq website)

That is the problem with trying to put XP on newer hardware.
You can try to let Windoze try to update them though Device Manager or you will have to use each device ID to try to search the internet for some that will work if you can find any.

yeah I tried googlig it, but no luck...

On each device in device manager that needs a driver... Right click on that device, click on properties, click on the details tab and give me the 4 digit vendor and device id numbers. They will look like this.

ven_xxxx and dev_yyyy

Either could be all numbers or a mixture of letters and numbers.

Do you want the code for every single device, or only for the ones with a question mark symbol next to them (I'm guessing that means that they are not recognized because there is no drivers installed for them)?

Okay, so the broadcom wireless drivers install with no problems but for some reason I still don't have wi-fi on the laptop and ATI's catalyst also installs with no problems, except the drivers don't seem to work, when I right click on the desktop I can see that there is an option to go into the catalyst control panel but when I click it nothing happens and the screen is still working like it was in safe-mode (like on any other pc w/o video drivers). Just in case, yes I did restart the laptop after installing the drivers. Help?

Try changing the resolution and also catalyst won't work without net framework software Installed. Check device manager to make sure both drivers are correctly installed.

Did that, .net is installed (1.0 to 4.0) and the catalyst still won't open. I tried reinstalling it a billion times, I tried many different downloads and it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

@OP
With your CCC issue, try uninstalling the laptop specific CCC drivers (driver sweeper) and then download and install the 13.1 legacy drivers for XP. It works fine on my Acer 5552 running XP with HD4250, so I see no reason why it won't work on your system also. (plus updated drivers are never bad).
