*note*im not interested in building my own but thanks*note*
im willing to pay the extra 300 if its worth it. but 300 bucks is a lot to a college student

i NEED a wireless card so ill have to put in one with the second computer which is already 300$ more.

ALSO have a few questions in the first computer, will the eight gigs even be used? not sure on the MOBO it has and its is going to be a pain to find out

lastly will the huge difference in cache sizes/formats make a big difference?

thanks for taking the time to read all this and help!! :D :P

I will play some games but nothing to high end. id hope both could play wow on max with no hiccups. but i may play a couple FPS. for just best all round pc/reliability
first pc is a hp second is a dell if that even matters

second choice, but either go with 3gb's of memory, or 6gb's of memory, and make sure that the ram on the second setup is low voltage(under 1.65 volts) unless you want to shorten the lifespan of that cpu

I'll 3rd the second one. It's a much better system all around especially with an i7 cpu paired with a 4850. Also wireless adapters aren't too expensive so i'd choose that one.

thanks so much for the input ill just go with an adapter for the wifi
a good computer will defiantly aid in making my college experience more bearable :D:D:D

i relay don't have the money for 2gig ddr3 upgrade, will not having 3 or 6 gigs make that much of a difference? should i go to the extent of taking a gig out?

just make sure you get a kit like this or this and yes, you would see a difference over 4gb's if you stepped down to 3gb's, because intel's i7 processor supports triple channel ram, which gives you more bandwidth at lower speeds

ahh after i did some research i see it going to force me into duel channel. Apposed to the optimum tri channel if i had 3 or 6 gigs... im not going to worry about to much multytasking.. so would i still be sacrificing power by going with the 4? Duel channel is fine wit me.. but will i reely lose that much speed?

if the mobo/OS can use the full 8 gigs for the first computer seems like a lot of power. even at a lower bandwith? im pretty new to the hardware scene so sorry if im just talking out of my ass here..

i woudln't bother at the first rig, especially when you can get the second one for $300 more, if it were a phenom 2, that might be better, but the second rig will be much more powerful
