i just read that the Intel E6700 and E6600 are goin to be droping price in a month. from 530$ to 316$ and 316$ to 224 respectivly.so im wondering as of now what does amd have that is to par with those two intels?

i'm not atm considering the price, just the comparison of performance. i'll use the price comparison when i actually go to build my system (hopefully at end of next month :D ).

also between the 6700 and 6600, is it really worth the price to go for the 6700?.

thanks for you imput~:)

The AMD x2 6000+ Is a little below the performance of the E6700 I believe.
But it also costs in the middle as well.

if you've always been an intel man give AMD a try, you may fall in love like I did.

(I'm just putting out my opinions now ... don't mind me)

Yeah, I've been an AMD fan, since I got my computer, but in my new build I'm going for a Core 2 Duo, so don't feel as if you have to stick to your favourite brand because you like it, you may miss out on performance.

At stock clocks, AMD only have their top models that are close to those 2 CPU's.

However, C2D's overclock much easier and further than X2 Athlons, making them even more worth their price.

i might get a e6700 now instead of a e6600 because i dont know if i will be able to overclock with ddr2-533mhz ocz gold series if i can ill get a 2.4 and a cpu cooler. it sounds like a big differnce not sure thou???

You DO know you can put memory on a divider, right? You know, remove the memory as possible cause of instability, so yo know the CPU is causing the instability.

thanks for the info guys, FYI ive pretty much been a AMD fanboy for along time, but im starting to change my mind with all the info ive been reading.

ohh and i love the link you had Other One. very good stuff there

I own both a C2D and a AMD 64 x2 and I prefer the AMD ... but man the c2d has REALLY impressed me since the last intel I owned pissed me off.
