Comparing PCs

Same model cpu, same amount of memory, ATI high end video card? You should be doing about the same while some will point out the NVidia model video card in the other build. I run everything with an MSI Radeon X1300 Pro and don't seem to have any problems.

The Ram is not the same as you can see the timing is different. The CPU can be overclock to X6800 speed or higher with the current mobo and that lovely case with 9 fans total and that superfast hdd. I dont want to go crossfire because of dx10. However I do want to test this baby with 3dmark 06 with heavy ocing and what the score will hit at. A better way to explain this is both system test 3dmark06 when its build and ready to see the score..

You would have to run both at stock with the ability to monitor the exact game to measure actual performance levels. That means nothing but the one game and a bare Windows for exact comparisons. That kind of would leave OCing out to make an accurate determination despite a latency difference.

Actually frame rates depend on whether you increase game detail and AA/AF a lot. If you do, then most of the games will be GPU limited so the systems should perform about the same with the exception of a few games that are also CPU limited still...

I dont think there is game out that will limit the power of my sig yet.

I will be overclocking my CPU to X6800 speeds as well. I will also be overclocking the 7900GT. But your card still eats mine. haha

I will have 8 fans + Liquid Cooling. 4 x 120mm, 2 x 90mm, and two other ones somewhere. haha

I will also have 2 x 250gb 7200RPM 16mb Cache SATA 3.0gb harddrives in RAID-0.

Yes that would be great to test the systems. When are you building? Becuase I really want to have 3dmark06 contast here. When you build yours post your 3dmark06 score in here http://www.computerforum.com/33342-3dmark06-scores-here.html. And Ill post mines. You can overclock all to max if you want because this is going to base high score overall. By the time dx10 comes ill be upgrading the videocard who know i might even upgrade the cpu if intel releases another cpu by then. And if I remember correctly werent you going for x975 asus p5b board? :D ill be upgrading to another raptor 150gb 10k rpm later and 2 more same ram equal to 4 gig of corsair xms2 same rams. But for know ill take it easy on you and just test it with my current system. But dont think i will win becuase your advantage is that liquid cooling you can overclock better with it. But mines advantage is just the GPU everything else is the same.

I will be doing very similar upgrades... hahahaha

I am saving for a DX10 card as well... the CPU I doubt i'll be upgrading. The ram I am going to 4gb and i'm still debating whether or not I will use 2 raids... the 2nd one being the Raptor.

I am using the P5B... why the face? It's great for overclocking and has great stability! It just lacks the SLi/Crossfire compatibility which really sucks actually.

I am not going to overclock the CPU too much... just to X6800 speeds since I am reading that it doesn't put any strain on the Processor really.

But back to your question... My system won't be tested for about 2 1/2 weeks BECAUSE! Damn it! haha

It should be reading Friday morning but I will be on my way for vacation to Myrtle Beach for a week... then when I get back I am jumping on a plane to Chicago for a week. So the system probably won't be tested until 9/2

By the time your back you will be seeing monster scores in that thread:D

I don't even know what a bad, good, awesome scores look like!! hahahaha

http://www.futuremark.com/download/ you download the program here. Now when you run it. It gives you the total score base on your rig. People having hard time score more then 2 -3k so first we need to beat 5k. And 10k (10,000) is the most i seen in that thread. So when you download it with your new rig test it and take screenshot of your score with the spec and post it there. 5k is good 10k is really good and 20k will the world record.:D
