OK i Just would like to know your opinions on this comparison.

Its between a single ATI 4870 512mb...

or

two in SLI PNY 8800GT 512mb...

Which is more sufficient and visual quality? Is there really going to be a difference?
I Also dont really know the diff between the GT and GTS versions etc...

Thanks

If you already have a SLI board and one 8800GT then getting another would be a better deal. If your getting a new board and card I would get the 4870.

well this the deal...

right now i have the 4870, my whole rig is 1 month old and pretty good.

I have an offer to sell it for 1200CAN

Can I build supreme machine for 1200?

My friend is selling his 8800gt cards and zalmon 1000 vga coolers for 150.

I love the 4870, but would there actually be any difference?

I havent really saw any benchmarks comparing 8800GT in SLI to one 4870. But like said above if you already have a 4870 keep what you have.

Ok, does anyone have good link for comparisions on benchmarking?

I know that sli is only about 1.6 performance.

With your PNY 8800 GT Stronghold, are you happy? May I ask what your benchmark score was with your setup?

I'm pleased with the card, Bought about 6 of them for systems I've built. Cant beat them for 110 bucks with free shipping. Never benchmarked the system so I could not tell ya. I have a Gigabyte 750a board too, been thing about installing it and slapping in another one in SLI. But I,m just doing it for the hell of it. If I was you I would keep the 4870.

k this is a test from Ncix.

but this is only 1 8800gt compared with the 4870.

Not really much difference!

As you see the blue is the 8800gt and the grey is 4870.

It seems the sli for 8800gt would be better in performance and visual since Id get 1.6 on 2 cards.

ugh im confused lol

for just one 8800 its 219CAN so double for 2 cards which is 440 plus about for the zelman fans 80$ all in all it be 520$ for sli, but id be getting it for 150 for all, I thinks its a good deal.

oops i guess i have more pics around on here..anyways the 8800 is about 10500 and the 4870 is 11000
