Ok. This is my computer build that I'm planning on doing.

Case and PSU are firm so please don't try to change those.

I'm curious as to if all these components will be compatible with each other and if not what can I do to fix this.

Computer will be used for gaming.

Thanks!

Thanks for the HDD catch. :)

I wasn't aware there was a difference between the different companies that make the same chipset of a card. Like a Zotac GTX 460 and a EVGA GTX 460. What's the difference?

Edit: I notice you have a Radeon HD 5770. I was considering that card. What are your thoughts on it? Thanks a lot!

I really don't see why everyone seems to like that case, there are many others for the same price that are much more attractive, and some for less, I guess it's from the rating, but still, and you'd do better with a corsair/antec/silverstone/seasonic/ocz/1 or 2 others, they are the most trusted brands and are much higher quality than a rosewill, rosewills will do fine unless you begin loading it with a gpu like that and a good power hungry cpu, then they are supposedly known to blow.

as for the gpu, Zotac is known for not honoring their mail in rebates, but then again everyone that doesn't get a rebate raves on the web, but you never here from the guys that got it, anyone else noticed this, but i did hear that if you register you rebate on their site it helps them extradie it and you can monitor the progress more easily

for the motherboard, if you are going to get a am3+, you may as well go for a 900 series chipset so you get the latest features too.

the 5770 is great, and the same priced 6770 has upgraded software for some newer things, but the performance is the same, but they are known for their overclockability and beastly hood when overclocked, it is still the best valued card at the 120 buck price point.

Zotac is more of a generic name like Palit. I'm not saying zotac makes a bad card but its more of a generic name then a brand name like evga, asus, saphire.

The 460 is a little bit better card then the 5770. I probably would have gotten the 460 but it was too much out of my price range. The only games I play are cod, mw, and wanting to get into the bf series possibly. I like the card. It lags, freezes in the black ops but I think its more of the game then the card, as the card runs fine playing mw2.

hey 2048megabytes, why is it that 1866mhz never even has 9-9-9-24, it always has the higher numbers, and just to make sure, lower is the prefered right.

Ok thanks guys! I will take all this into consideration.

And I have noticed a lot of people get that case. The light looks nice, 3 large fans, 2010 Tom's Hardware recommended buy and over a 1000 reviews with a 5 egg average is probably going to attract a lot of customers. Not to mention the more it sells the more it shows up in searches at the top and the more people see it so the more people buy it.

Comparing Zotac to Palit/Gainward might be a little unfair John... just try getting an RMA out of them! I failed to do so... they told me to take it where I bought it from... little difficult for a used card and no invoice.

I'd get Palit's warranty terms but their warranty pages redirect to AMD/Nvidia support page...

Denther, it is just personal prefference, but just look at Rosewill's Destroyer Case, and the Apex Vortex 3620, and there are like 5+ other that i like alot more than that case, just look around and i think you'll find something better, but if you like the case you can get it.

The case is a good budget case. Good cable management, 3.5" drive bay design, 2.5" SSD bay, plenty of fans, painted interior, even a couple things like a noise a suppressing gasket for the ps and I think it has a filter on the bottom.

With the 3 fans, you can hear it if it's on the desktop or near it. Not too loud tho and if you have music or something going on you won't hear it. If you want it really silent, get a fan controller.

Thanks for the permission. :)

I'll check out some other cases, too.

Is this Mobo ok? And will it work with the HDD JohnB35 referred me to earlier?

I'm not overly worried about how loud it is and the 3 fans are part of why I like it. Lots of cooling.

And do motherboards normally come with the back plate or do I have to use the stock one on the case?

Hey 2048megabytes, why is it that 1866mhz never even has 9-9-9-24, it always has the higher numbers, and just to make sure, lower is the prefered right.

Column Address Strobe (CAS) latency is the delay time in nanoseconds when the data is available on the memory modules output pins. (There are a billion nanoseconds in one second just in case you did not know.) The numbers really do not mean much when comparing memory module data transfer speeds. When comparing memory data transfer speed look at the "PC" or "DDR" rating.

I've been slowly accumulating this money over the course of this past year. I make 30 bucks a week doing mowing. If you're in an area that has yards offer to mow for neighbors when they're on vacation or every week. Ask for lower than anyone else and you'll still probably be making more than minimum wage. Makes decent money. That money also payed for my drum-set a few years ago. :)

Thanks for all the info!

And I'm not getting this build for a month or so at least. Which in that time prices can go down!! :D

well i live in the good old south, as in every person has a minimum of 2 acres on my street and surrounding, but our mower has been wearing out lately, its over 10y.o. if not 15, it's a good old $6k commercial john dear like the normal ones today but better quality, and if i did that i'd have to be paying for all the maintnance and stuff too, which is alot lately, and it's hot as hell here, and i'm one lazy s.o.b. too so yeah.

Pet Sitting? House Sitting? Baby Sitting (if you're desperate). There are a select few places that hire at 15, at least where I am. Look online to see if you can find any. If anyone in your family owns a restaurant or business you could possibly get a job there busing tables, running errands, stuff like that. Non franchise restaurants are always needing people to clean up. Hey it's not fun but it can earn some cash.

Just some thoughts.

But I hear you, getting money at 15 isn't easy. Old enough to need/want the money but just shy of being old enough to have a job.

Best of luck in job hunting.

extra sucks when parents have to use their vehicles and older brother's car was grandad's he bought to sell almost 2 years ago and within a few hours of dad putting it on craigs list sold, and we have 2 other vehicles but both are just shy of working, for years now that is, and for local stuff i live in an area of mainly retired people so they live for their gardens, i just live in a bad area that was hit pretty bad economically, and us esspecially, i just am like screwed, i had saved 125 then ma said she'd pay me back for something cuz she didn't have money right then and it was a trip i was going on, and that never came, then something else, now parents ow me 160, have 40 cash, and 20+in mail, and already have a nice case with old parts from a compaq in it, in my sig too, and hooked to a 22" tv/monitor, so really if i could get my money from parents and w8 till christmas i'd be almost set, get the 60 buck corsair 500w with a 20 or 10 buck mir, wait for the coupon codes a couple days later then a 4gb dual channel kit for aroung 40-50, a 100 buck am3+, and a phenom ii 955, then use the hdd out of another computer and my win xp disk which i believe has another use or 2 b4 it requires something, read something saying after 5 something happens.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit - $95

I have a 5.1 speaker system right now. I don't know much about this but the specs on the motherboard said 8 channels with this chipset. Realtek ALC892.

Will this support 5.1 surround sound?

Any other thoughts on the build?

get a f3 or something else for the hdd and get the extra 250gb's for 5 less.

didn't we go over rosewill psu's being a bad idea, and me not a fan of the case too, again, have you looked at the rosewill destroyer, and you'd be much better off if you got the corsair 500watt or similar, it's the best one cuz of a mir making it like 35 i think.
