compatibility and performance ?

Thanks for that link i did not know if it would be able to handle 2 gigs. yeah a little pricey but its not my money. i'll let him know its compatible and he can get 2 of them and see what he says thanks again
 
You can speed it up a bit further by editing the programs that start when
Windows boots.

Click on the Start Menu, Run, type msconfig. You will see this dialog box:

In the Startup Tab, you can uncheck the boxes for the programs you don't
want to run at Windows boot.
(good rule of thumb: Most anything under "Command" that says "Program
Files" can be unchecked, EXCEPT any Antivirus programs)

This process can easily be undone by running msconfig again, and re checking
the boxes.

You will notice a substantial increase in performance by stopping some of these unnecessary programs. This will not uninstall the applications, it will
just prevent them from running at startup.
