compatibility?

yea they will work together... only thing is that the hard drive interface will run slower because its SATA2, and the motherboard only supports SATA1..
basically yea they'll work but the motherboard bottlenecks the hard drives interface speed.

SATA150 = ~150MBps
SATA3Gb/s = ~300MBps

These are the hypothetical speeds, in reality they dont run that fast, and i've also heard that SATA2 drives dont run any faster than a SATA150 drive does.

hey guys thanks for all the info
but what does it mean when it says supports sata2 and then it says backward compatible with sata 3.0 gigs per sec
i dont get what the backward compatible thing is
also im upgrading to a new motherboard this summer (new amd socket with ddr2 ram :D ) so that doesnt matter

one more thing
i was gonna get two of these drives and put them in raid 0
my motherboard can support raid 0 raid 1 and raid 0+1
i get raid 0 write the program onto the two hard drives 64k at a time so half will be on one half will be on the other
i get raid 1 it creates an exact backup of the primary hard drive
but i dont get raid 0+1 i looked it up and it says it does the 64k at a time thing and the backup thing. but then some people say that i need 4 hard drives to do raid 0+1. i don't understand because people say different things. could you clear me up on that?
thanks

dont worry about what i posted before
anyways
i was wondering how do make my hard drive into a sata 1
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822145082

Pros: Excellent drive for the price. Fairly Quiet The hitachi tool is great you can adjust everything from drive acoustics to speed.Delivery time speedy once again thanxs newegg...

Cons: finding out about hitachi tool to make the drive sata II it comes sata I. you have to make a bootable floppy with the hitachi tool on it. You can get it from their web site.... More »

Other Thoughts: Oh well oem drive i guess

I don't understand what a hitachi tool is
i searched it on google but i didn't get what i needed
he said you have to make a bootable floppy with the hitachi tool on it but i don't get what it is or where you get it
