Ok ive got a motherboard nothing is on it yet no procesor or anything but i have found some cheap ram and i was wondering if the
ECS 945P-A INTEL MOTHERBOARD SOCKET LGA775
is compatible with
Micron 512MB DDR2 PC2-3200 400MHz MT8 Memory RAM

oh and is it a good stick of ram i plan on buying 2 identically ones, will it be quick and good?
 
Single sided or Dual? Does your board include a manual? The board specifications at most online vendors will list the memory that will run on that or other models. If the board takes 184pin DDR266-400 ram then you should have no problems unless the board specifies dual sided dimms. Some boards won't run the single sided. Newer boards may use DDR2 240pin modules instead of DDR there. Now let's highlight the model number here and run a web search to see the specs at the manufacturer's or vendor(s)'s sites to see what memory will go on like....

DDR2 is 240pin memory. :rolleyes: You have to read over the actual board specifications at either a vendor's or manufacturer's site to just what any make or model board uses. There are some crossover type boards that would run either DDR400 184pin memory or the newer DDR2 240pin type at about 533mhz. It would be either one or the other memory used there not both types.
 
Often you can go right to the board manufacturer's own site to see what memory they recommend since those worked the best on that and other model boards. You may want to shop around before buying memory at Ebay that you don't know is new or used unless a vendor is clearing off some stock. To look over new memory and prices at different vendors for a variety of brands and prices one way to find what you want is to browse through shopper sites like http://www1.shopping.com/xPP-random_access_memory-512mb_ddr2_pc2_3200~all-9688_brand~S-multp to see who is selling what new memory for the better prices.
