as for compatibility im not sure...for entry level the question is are u wanting to turn professional or do it a lot for fun and maybe a little money or wut? cuz if you want really nice pics and possibility of little money or make big prints of it to decorate ur house or wutever then ya this would be a good camera to use

The camera will do fine for entry photography. It's better than my current camera, even though many of my best shots were taken with a simple point and shoot. It's not always the camera that makes the good shots, but the photographer who can actually USE the camera. You have to learn what the camera can and can't do.

As for the filters, I couldn't tell you right off. You have to find exactly what size filters it can take. And that probably all depends on what lens you have on the camera.
