Compatiblity of excell 2000 sheets with the latest version of excel

I have some Excel sheets that I made 8 years ago with Excel 2000, that have a lot of data and vba code and that I'm still using.

Would it opens perfectly with the new version of Office? Will the code still be working without any bug?

With Windows 7, I can't use office 2000 anymore.
By the way, which is the oldest version of Office which will works fine on Windows 7?
 
No clue, it should open them though. If not, download OpenOffice and see if that will. Its a freeware office system.
