Compress Air? PSU Failure?

Alright, here is the situation: I just purchased a new, significantly more powerful VGA. My PSU more than meets the power standard required by the card. Before installing the card, I used compressed air (CleanDr Dust Remover) which states that it is safe for electronics. I installed the card, and for some reason, I can not get my computer to start. Not a peep. I tried different outlets, checked to make sure it was plugged in, checked the PSU switch: nothing. Could the dusting spray have damaged my PSU or other components? How can I test my PSU to see if it is dead? It is only a few months old. I'm terrified right now, because this computer itself is only a few months old. Help!

Hmm, try making sure all the cables are connected tightly, make sure the outlet is securely in the back/in the wall.Only thing i think could have happened is a a loose part of something could have gotten into the psu and shorted it out.

Ok, here is an update. I got the pc started, however the card will not spin the fan or anything. I can only think of two possibilities, first, that, god forbid, it is DOA, and second, is that it calls for 2x6 pin power connectors, I have 1x6 pin, and 1x6+2 pin connector plugged in, perhaps they have to be both 6 pin?

The cleaning by use of a can of air cleaner won't damage anything except in a rare card where an expansion card already was seeing a harden brittle condition as might be seen on an old system(several years old that is). A card not seated down fully or properly connected will stall a system or sound off an audio alert.

Dont care to much for Rosewill or if they will really put out what is claimed. That one is on the borderline with a 260. The (Minimum) Req. for a 260 are 500W with 36 amps on the 12V on the average system. That one even if it has 600W or not only has 35 amps total on the 12V. Plus it only puts out 430W on the 12V.

No I,m not saying for sure thats what it is. Its just that it is on the borderline. If you ordered the card thats the bummer if it doesnt work. Send the card back and wait for another one to find out it doesnt boot and was the P/S. Or Buy a new P/S just to find out it was the card. If you dont have extra hardware to text, its a best educated guess and hope your right the first time around.

Yes, its ok to use the 6/8 connector using the 6 pins. It should just snap apart, some slide together.

Edit. Thats odd but the spec. says it has 2 6 pins PCIe not a 6/8.

2x 6 pin PCI-Express Connector
