computer and video laggy after graphics card upgrade

no i removed that one, im just basically trying to get back to the original settings when everything was working, so it s using the unichrome IG card.
 
well the saga continues

ive purchased another computer, Pentium 4 with 2.8 ghz with 2GB dual channel ram.
i tried YouTube on there (it came with a fresh install of xp) and exactly the same lag.

so i removed the hard drive that came with the computer and installed a brand new maxtor hard drive, fresh installation of xp and SP3, and yes still the same. the square next to the youtube video is still there. so i guess i can rule out my old commuter, it can only be a problem with youtube and flash 13.

i don't think i can do any more.

I'm pretty sure this is your answer. A fresh install of the OS with the correct drivers would have fixed any software issues that would have caused choppy playback. Unless it is an issue with an updated version of flash and XP, but I have pretty big doubts about that being the issue. I just don't think the P4 has enough power for higher resolution playback.

its obviously not that, it was working fine on a 1.6ghz sempron, i would many people have far less top of the range comps and still it works fine. i can only think its xp and flash 13
 
ive just checked the CPU usage n my new Pentium 4 comp, and is as follows:

240P video, CPU 50%.
480P video, CPU 70%.
720P video, CPU 100%.
 
but its not fine anymore at 240,360 or 480, its still laggy at these speeds too yet the cpu is not near 100% so the problem which was not there is now here
 
Ok. Well Im not sure then. You can either try a different version of flash, move to a different browser or try loading lightweight linux distribution to see if the problem still exists there.
