Yep when you put the drive from the other computer in you can do a reapir of windows and it will let you keep your files.

Wtf is a hard drive I always thout it was the memory? I looked up and the hard drive is the thing that let's you put cds in and play. For example I want to install windows xp on my computer I put it in the hard drive and then Im done. So I have to throw my old hard drive away and put the other one I got into the computer that got trashed?

The hard drive holds all your information such as your operating system take the one you have in there that makes the noise and replace it with the on from the other pc and the one thats making noise (failing) you can get ride of.
the things you put the cd in are cd drives theres also dvd drives.

I have 2 of them Cant I just take the one that is making noise and replace it with other one?

Those are optical drives for reading CD's or DVD's. Your Hard Drive is inside your computer - you cannot see it unless you open the case. It's about 4 inches wide, 1 inch tall, and 6 inches long.

Not trying to take shots here, but do you know for certain *what* is making noises or are you just taking shots in the dark?

I got the drive I no what it is now. I will buy a new one or get another one when I ask around and get money.

Your Hard Drive is in the lower right-hand corner of that pic. It's standing vertical with a thin ribbon cable with a blue tip leading to it.

If you buy a new one make sure you get the right connection! Im going to assume since your computer seems pretty old that its IDE. Make sure that you DO NOT buy a sata hard drive.
