Hello,
I am new to this site. I have recently decided that I would build myself a new gaming computer. This being in part because my current PC came with windows 98 and $90 rare sticks of slow 256mb ram in it and an equally unimpressive processor.
I want something that will last for a while and I am on a budget. I figure I can get something pretty decent if I cut the middleman and make my own. I would like to keep it under $700, although that seems unlikely.
I went on New Egg and I think that the use of the AMD Phenom II X6 would be preferable. However, I am looking for advice. The use of that processor is not a requirement and could easily change since it is quite expensive, quite. I need suggestions for everything. I can probably swipe and by that I mean borrow, a Windows 7 or Vista 64bit operating system disc so that may not need any covering.
I am only moderately knowledgeable in respect to computers. I know how to put one together and all that, but the finer points of its binary operations and the deep mechanics of tuning them escape my grasp. I also lack the experience of knowing all the products and their reputations available so for these reasons I ask for your support.
