Hello Computer Forum,

I am planning to build a computer with a predicted build of a intel i3 dual core processor (3.06ghz), samsung 1TB F3 HD103SJ hard drive, Sapphire HD 5450 1GB Graphics Card, Komputerbay (2x4gb) DDR3 Ram 1333mhz, Gigabyte SKT-1156 GA-H55M S2 Motherboard, 19" LED Samsung HD Monitor, I am using around a £500 budget though i will change if it will stand in the way of performance, i already have a sound card ,cd/dvd drive, keyboard and mouse , my questions are what case and fan would be useful here, considering that at the moment the components i have add up to £460 and as i am still scouring the internet they can only really go down, i also was wondering if there was any better components for similiar prices, and finally as im new to the building computer scene so i was wondering if this build will even work :)? any answers or advice would be very helpful
 
What about power supply? Please do yourself an immense favor and don't purchase a case with the power supply supplied because with a few exceptions a psu that comes with a case is garbage.

Just make sure that your i3 processor is the first generation and not the Sandy Bridge 2nd generation i3 because the 2nd generation will not work with the Gigabyte 1156 board you listed. To run the Sandy Bridge version you need a 1155 board (Intel and their socket numbering :mad: ).

What do you want to do with this system? If gaming, what types of games?
 
Buy a case with plenty of ventilation, and make sure that the form factor is the right one. You're motherboard is MicroATX, so make sure your case fits a microATX. As for the fan, I'm not sure what to look for.
 
i was hoping to use my pc primarily for gaming, such as crysis, call of duty, portal and possibly world of warcraft, at the moment i am looking at the Cooler Master RC-430-KWN1 Elite 430 case which looks good has good airflow and has space for 6 120mm fans apparently, i was very curious if this would be a suitable case, and how many of those fan spaces would i need to fill?
