Computer Building Problems

Hello,

I attempted building my first rig and the assembly process went some-what smooth, but I have encountered a problem with WinXP (maybe). When all the hardware was connected I popped my CD into the drive and installed WinXP. I loaded up Windows the internet wasn't working, meaning I couldn't register Windows. So, I tried installing my cable modem software onto my computer but WinXP couldn't seem to find my CD drive. How is that possible if installed Windows through that drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

to be able to get the internet, you have to have your lan drivers installed. did u do that? i dont ever register my windows when i do a fresh install.

No, I was saying above that WinXP doesn't display my CD drive in My Computer, as in it's not there. But I installed WinXP through the CD drive, so I'm not sure why it's doing that.
