Hey,

I am looking for a case and was wondering what would be the best choice out of the ones I give you. Yes I know there might be better ones out there but these are the ones I am looking at and have the chance of getting. I can't use newegg.com because I live in Canada.

So please judge on the following criteria s:

- Easiness for building with.
- Cooling
- Worth the Price (I rather spend alittle more and have more options then just have a dime chasing a dollar.)
- Design meaning looks (but not a huge category)
- Weight is not a problem.

Here are the ones I have been looking at. Yes I know some are mid-towers, well others a full towers. The computer will be used for gaming if that means anything.

( 1 ) Antec 900

( 2 ) Antec P182

( 3 ) Cooler Master Praetorian
http://b-com.ca/product.php?productid=218938&cat=244&page=1

( 4 ) Cooler Master Stacker 832 (this is the case I have been looking the hardest at.)

( 5 ) Thermaltake Armor VA8003BWS (Another case I have been looking pretty hard at)

( 6 ) Thermaltake XASER V6000A

Please just put the number next to the case listing and give an reason is you want to. Thanks

Shawn Stevenson

It depends if size will be a problem... the Thermaltake Aromor is a full tower and is very big and the Coolermaster Stacker is even bigger.

I am currently tossing up betweent he cases you mentioned and I am concerned about the size (and price) of the larger cases. I need to fit in 2x 8800GT and cool them effectively and people have told me that the Antec 900 is a poorly designed case (i.e. difficult to assemble and rather small for an 8800GT)

perhaps give people an idea as to what parts you are putting in the case so they have a better judgement as to which would best suit you

Ok, no problem.

Here is what I am thinking, none of this is set in stone though, but size and weight is not a problem at all.

CPU

Motherboard

(I am thinking about a more expensive one, not sure though)

Vid Card

I am thinking about a Raptor Hard Drive but I am trying to see if it's worth the money.

DVD Drive

Thats about what I am thinking, if you see any problem let me know though.

I was originally going with the Antec 900 but don't like what I am hearing about the space. I would love tons of space even if it weights a ton. LOL

Thanks

I would go with the stacker, its huge, so it wil be nice and easy to work in, it also cools very well, and i think it looks pretty nice (as long as you dont get the horrible green one *wink*) However its pretty expensive.

For the price, the coolermaster CM 690 offers the best bang for buck, i have it and i love it

Its nice and big ! Got great cable management. It cools well and it looks nice and sleek

Its cheaper than the stacker, 900 and P182

If size and weight are of no importance to you I'd go with the Stacker 832. That thing is huge, but it can effectively cool your system. And since its so big, you would have plenty of room to work.

Thats true, but any case can be quiet with the right fans and some sound proofing foam.

I realy like the P182, i would like it more if it was a bit more spacious, like the P190

I'm looking at the P182 as well.... for a few reasons, one: way cheaper than the Stacker and Armor, two: I have been told it is pretty quiet from stock without making any adjustments to fans and whatnot, three; it is much smaller than the others since I have limited space but it still bigger than the Antec 900 and would be more spacious inside

I myself like the Antec 900, it keeps everything cool and has plenty of room.
My friend just got one and you cant even tell its on, and since I got mine they improved a few things such as the hard drive bays.
Overall it seems to be a good no case no problems with it here.

Hey,
I went to the store today to look at the cases. I really like the way the Armor looks. So I was wondering, other then being bigger then the P182, and a little smaller then the Stacker. Is there anything else different that is better or worse. Meaning if I were to go with the Armor will there be anything I might regret down the road in compatibility wise.

Also sorry for the dumb question I am still learning, but is Thermaltake an O.K. brand.

And what is the difference between the VA8003SWA and the VA8000SWA. For some reason the VA8003SWA is 30 bucks more and I cant see a difference.

I prefer the Antec 900, theres lots of space to work around with, plenty of room for high-end video cards (my 2900XT fits with 2" to spare), the case looks great, and has great cooling.

I am decideing between the Antec 900, P182 and the Thermaltake Armor.... they are in order of price, the 900 being the cheapest for me

I like the Armor but it is the size that worries me as I have limited space for the case and i'm not sure it will be able to gett he ventilation it needs.
I prefer the P182 most of all three... is the cooling very good, enough to cool 2 8800GT overclocked and an overclocked Q6600???

I was originally going to get the 900 but I am being told that it is a difficult case to work with and will barely fit the 8800GT inside making it a tight squeeze... is the P182 much better and worth the extra 30 bucks???

My system is:

CPU: Intel Q6600 - Overclocked
MOBO: XFX n-force 680i-LT SLI
GPU: 2x XFX 8800GT 512MB Extreme editoon in SLI
HDD: 2x Seagate 32MB SATA II 500GB @ 7200rpm (1TB total)
RAM: 4GB DDR2 800Mhz ***Corsair*** (4x1GB)
DVD: Pioneer SATA 215BK DL DVD-R/RW
ASUS SATA lightscribe 18x DL DVD-R/RW
PSU: Thermaltake ToughPower 750w
W/L: D-Link PCI DWL-G520M 108G with MIMO
TV: Leadtek DTV2000H Hybrid
S/C: Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Gamer
HS: Zalman CNPS9700 LED Copper

Thanks in advance

I'd go with the Antec 900 personally. Wouldn't mind one of em' myself. I have an elite 331 its not too bad for the price I got it for.
