Computer Club Project

Okay, so every year our computer club (3 members so far LMAO) builds a computer for our adviser. He pays of course, but he's usually on some sort of budget. One year he was on a 4K$ budget, this year he tells me that he wants something around 1K$. I wanted to try and get an i5 build and the wish list came together BEAUTIFULLY! I haven't found a PSU because the NewEgg PSU calculator I use doesn't have the i5 on it. I'll post the list whenever NewEgg publicizes it, but for now, here are the parts:

BTW He's a video-editing guy, he needs the 8GB of memory.

As said previously, he's into video-editing, and I don't know if OpenGL 3.0 helps, but just pick one of these for him: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...=1068320729&Description=evga gtx 250&name=1GB

I doubt he's gonna be doing anything like that, but just to be safe I'll grab a 700W.

Now what would you recommend for a PSU? OCZ ModXStream Pro maybe?

Okay, I chose the Fatal1ty because it matches the red, has little bit better ratings, and the 24pin wire is longer.

Cool, cool. Did you see the part about the GPU? I don't understand what OpenGL is, but it sounds like something to do with editing?

according to wikipedia:

OpenGL (Open Graphics Library) is a standard specification defining a cross-language, cross-platform API for writing applications that produce 2D and 3D computer graphics. The interface consists of over 250 different function calls which can be used to draw complex three-dimensional scenes from simple primitives

Okay, it'd be really helpful if it wasn't just you ganzey...

So I'm guessing that CAD doesn't affect video editing and gaming?
