Hi - without revealing the brand, etc. Here are two blind computers two compare. One is $80 cheaper, and I'm just wondering if there is a significant difference between the two.

The specs on the computers are completely the same except for the following:

- The first has 4GB RAM @ 800MHz - 4 DIMMs and a processor Benchmarked at 2609.

- The second has 4GB RAM @ 800MHz- 2 DIMMS and a processor Benchmarked at 3185

Is there a significant difference between these two computers? Is one substantially more powerful or are they essentially the same machine?

You can stick more RAM in the one with the 4 DIMMs in the first one... But as for the processor; you wouldn't see that much of a difference between the two. Only by like .050GHz.. Which isn't a lot..

Benchmarked with what? What kind of processor? What kind of graphics card?

Graphics card is the same - ATI Radeon HD 4350.

Got the benchmarks here - www.cpubenchmark.net

I know these benchmarks vary based on other specs, but figure that with such a large amounts of tests, the average ends up negating peripheral factors.
