Computer Crash

Hi,
I have a new Intel Pentium D 830 with a 945 mobo
it has 2048mb of ram
it has a radeon x700 se video card

most of the time, when playing games it crashes (blue scrn of DEATH)
i need to know if it is a video card problem or a temperature problem..
the temp idles at around 65 degrees.

ive heard that this processor can get very hot but im not sure if that is my problem. it is only using a factory heatsink that it came with.

im just wondering if there are anyone else that has the same system encountered the same problem and if so what did u do about it.

the blue screen probably flashes for him and then goes away... yea that sounds like your memory or cpu is heating up too much. if youre on default clocks and such this shouldnt happen, but what are the temps?

thanks for the reply
im not really sure what the blue screen says but i learned that by having my case open and putting a fan straight at it.. it doesnt crash as much.

the cpu temp is at 65 degrees celsius
mobo at 45 degrees
aux at 33 degrees

this is with my case back on and a house fan blowing straight at the back.
my case doesnt come with any fan so i just improvised.

there is room for a cooling fan at the back and two more at the left side.
im wondering where the best place to put a fan or fans at..
because i think thats what my problem is.

65 c is pretty hot, your card is probably overheating and it sounds like it is just a normal heatsink, without a fan. Also all the other componets seem to be a little on the hot side as well, does your pc case have good ventillation?

65C is too hot for an idle temp, and this is probably where your problem lies. I would definitely get some case fans and try to reduce the temperature this way first. Maybe try moving around some cables inside your case to increase airflow.

On another note, pointing a house fan at the back may actually increase your temps, as you're blowing the hot air from the power supply back into the case.

What is the average speed and CFM of the heatsink fan? And is it very dirty or dusty?

my computer is actually pretty new so its not that dusty yet
the heatsink fan runs at about 950rpm when its idle and i dont really know its cfm.
