Computer crashing differently?

I was playing a game last night and all of a sudden the picture was lost, absolutely nothing on the tv screen.
Then trying to switch the computer off and on - got 3 long beeps every time.
Took out video card - and used the integrated one - no picture.
Plugged a normal monitor into integrated card - picture did appear but it only goes up to the startup screen and then it just goes to the screen where it asks: Save mode, Start normal etc.
Doesnt matter which one I choose - it just starts the circle again. There are no beeps at startup now. I did change the Ram, problem stayed. Played around with everything and got an error saying that cable disconnected / media not found. Please help.

Your computer has memory problems. First check video. If video is working, you'll see an error message. If not, you have a parity error in your first 64K of memory. First check your DIMM's. Reseat them and reboot. If this doesn't do it, the memory chips may be bad. You can try switching the first and second banks memory chips. First banks are the memory banks that your CPU finds its first 64K of base memory in. You'll need to consult your manual to see which bank is first.
but it now sounds as if either theh/d is failing or your windows installation is corrupted
do you have the install disc?

I did swap the Ram and I did run the XP cd - only got as far as 'Windows is shutting down to prevent damage....' I am going to remove the screen card again and try the XP cd. Hope it works.
 
I connected my hdd through a borrowed computer. The borrowed computer saw my hdd and I could access my files. So, I took the borrowed computers hdd out and just left my hdd and the computer couldnt start up. So I suppose its registry problems.

I've put back the original hdd and the computer came on perfectly. This borrowed computer is running on XP home, so Im using my laptop to access the borrowed computer to backup my corrupt hdd onto another computer. Does it still make sense? Well, its working.

Can I copy my laptops WINDOW files onto my hdd in the borrowed computer - or wont it sort out the problem?
