Everytime I go to play a game such as: COD2, Oblivion, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and sometimes BF2 the computer crashes. (screen goes black and the speakers get a "buzzing" noise. I have eliminated temperature as the cause both the cpu and gpu are way below the max.

I can't figure out what it is...it's beginning to be frustrating.

Any help would be much appreciated.

wow that question is a stumper

haha yup that helped alot :P

anyways, do you get the bsod? or does the screen just flash black? And when it goes black, does it having any sort of lines or patterns?

do you play any games that aren't as graphically intense as the ones you listed above? i had this problem when i had my ti4600 even while playing the original Rainbow Six (which the most basic of basic could run, even integrated)

I can play Steam games...but the games still crashed when i backed the settings all the way down...(640X400res and all low settings)

are games the only time you've crashed, or have you had the same problem from even lower graphically-intense applications (as in while working with anything on the desktop, etc.)?

no...i have had programs crash...but extremely demanding ones.

But games is the only time the computer crashes

i had a similar problem, and my graphics card was dying. though this may not be your problem, it would be helpful to eliminate the possibility of such. do you have any extras by chance?

yeh...so your saying to swap it out to eliminate that or determine that as the problem?....I hope not...its only a 4 month old card

yeah... if the crashing is at all systematic then it will be obvious whether or not the graphics card is at fault when you swap it out for something else....
