Hi guys, New to the forum. Looking for a wee bit of advice.
My friends dad asked me to go have a look at his PC as it wasn't booting and he had a lot of work documents on the computer that he needed. I turned it on and the computer booted up there was just no signal going to the screen. I took the case of the comptuer checked all the wiring and rebooted and got the loading/welcome screens.
He asked if i could unplug again so he could get rid of surface dust. After he got the dust from the case out we booted the computer again and it loaded fine. After about 3-4 minutes the computer just cut out, and when i pressed the power button again. The fan would spin briefly before cutting out, I left it to cool down, and after about 10 minutes i pressed the power button again and the computer booted (giving no image to the monitor again.) I've now brought the PC back to my own house as i think the fan needs cleaning out with some compressed air which I'm about to go get.
Could this be the main reason for the PC cutting out?
