Computer doesn't function

Hi.
Earlier today, I sent my computer to sleep. A few hours later, I noticed that my computer was on, but my mouse wasn't lighting up. I turned back on my monitor and tried to unlock. For some reason, my keyboard lit up, but nothing happened on screen. Also, caps lock and number lock didn't work, but windows lock did . I tried to shut it down, but it just stayed lit for ages. After a force shut down, turn it off at the wall, and turn it on again, same thing happened.
What has happened?

Can you try a different mouse and keyboard? I can tell you right now, there are a lot of issues with sleep mode. Another member posted about issues after waking from sleep mode just the other day. If different keyboard and mouse don't work then if you can access windows maybe you can do a system restore to a day before and see if maybe windows is just corrupt.
