i've got a problem with my old computer (300mhz)

i've looked in the bios just because i was curious what i would see, then i rebooted, (not saving the changes, i think) and shut down the pc. I pull out a molex out of one hd because i wanted to install an os on the other hd. But when i turned on the pc i didn't see anything on the monitor and then i heard one long beep and 3 short beeps.
I have cleared the cmos, connected the molex again, checked the ram etc, ...
but still i can't start up my pc.

What can i do ?

Just out of curiosity, when you pulled out the molex from one of the HD, it wasn't the primary HD (from which the computer loads from), was it?

Only one drive should be set as master, the other as slave. If they are both set as master they can conflict. To understand the beeps you need to read Questions 101 and post you info.
